Our reason for being in Mongolia is to make disciples of Jesus Christ, organizing them into local churches and encouraging them to follow God's Word. There are many opportunities in Mongolia to reach out with the Gospel.

Since the time of Genghis Khan, a Christian testimony has been largely absent. Until 1990, several hundred years of Buddhist domination and 70 years of communist oppression prevented the spread of the Gospel. But God has allowed these past events to prepare this generation of Mongolians, in a unique way,  for the proclamation of the Gospel. For instance, the former communist regime produced, even among the nomads, a remarkably high literacy rate. This means that Mongolians are able to read for themselves the word of God as it arrives.

Our initial avenue of entrance into Mongolia was as students of the Mongolian language.  We completed our formal course of language study in 2002 and then began teaching at our NGO's (Non-Government Organization) "Christian Training Center" (CTC) The initial courses we taught, with the help of our teammates, were:

  • Apologetics
  • Beginning English
  • Historical Books -- Part One (Joshua, Judges, Ruth)
  • Homiletics
  • New Testament Greek I, II, and III
  • Pentateuch

As our teammates concluded their formal language requirements, our team expanded the offerings at the CTC. Last fall, the following courses were offered:

  • Beginning English
  • English for Children
  • First Aid, Nutrition, and Hygiene
  • Geography of the Bible Lands
  • Greek One
  • Greek Two
  • Historical Books - Part Two (1 Samuel-Esther)
  • Homiletics
  • Intermediate English
  • Medical Terminology (in English)

Currently, due to recent diagnosis of our son as autistic and our subsequent relocation to the States -- as well as our regularly planned furlough, fewer classes are being offered at the Center. Please pray that additional teachers will be recruited. Thanks.
